The Jackson Four have now been impressing audiences across Australia, the UK and US since 2013. More recently, they were the ‘surprise hit’ of the Devonport Jazz Festival 2017 with 3 sell out full house shows. Devonport was also the Australian launch event of their latest release, ‘Kool Kats – The Jackson Four’, on ABC Local Radio. Kool Kats immediately went straight to number 5 in August on the Australian Blues and Roots Radio Charts.
In August of 2017 the band were invited to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a one-hour live to air performance on Scottish Jazz Radio. The event also being the UK launch of their latest release ‘Kool Kats – The Jackson Four. The release was eagerly awaited by the UK Blues and Jazz scene since the success of their debut release, ‘Love the Life’, in 2015 reaching the top 20 of the UK Blues charts in October of that year. Followed by promotional appearances and releases during 2016.
The band has also developed quite a following in the US. Thanks to the support of fabled New Orleans radio station WWOZ play listing ‘Love the Life’ across programs throughout 2015.
The band’s distinctive style and sound is centred around the classic Hammond B3 organ. With interplay from soulful and Bluesy sax and vocals. All driven by a strong Funky, Jazz, Latin rhythm and percussion section.
In 2018, The Jackson Four are excited to announce that they will be joined by Hammond and piano virtuoso, Jon Wade. Hammond Australia’s official ‘face of Hammond’. Jon’s career includes The BBC youth orchestra, Musical Director for Kiki Dee, Australian Jazz legend, George Golla and many more.
